The co-ordinated community response to domestic and family violence is led by DVRS.

In 2010, a group of people from community and statutory organisations met to discuss how they could work together better. A group called the Domestic Violence Response Group continued to meet regularly and extended the network at the same time as discussing new initiatives.

In November 2011, after a community survey was conducted to gauge the need for new services such as a perpetrator program and extended co-operation between services, a public meeting was held and several sub-groups were formed to maintain and extend the interest in working collaboratively.

Since then, people from a wide range of organisations have increased their participation in the CCR, and the network has expanded and found ways to improve the response to people affected by domestic and family violence.

The DVRG intends publishing regular e-bulletins to keep the community up to date with new opportunities and initiatives that will lead to better outcomes for the people we are here to empower and assist in the healing process.
